Why are they change it? Are they going to steel pennies?

Maybe plastic pennies? :favorites21:

18 design choices were reviewed by the Commission of Fine Arts, which put its recommendation behind LP-18,http://2010lincolncents.com/images/LP-18.jpg
which features the Wheat Stalks design. This choice was subsequently removed from consideration due to its similarity to a German coin.

The CFA later chose LP-10 http://2010lincolncents.com/images/LP-10.jpg
as their alternate choice.
The remaining 17 design choices were also reviewed by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee.
They selected LP-13 http://2010lincolncents.com/images/LP-13.jpg
featuring a shield as their preferred choice.
The final choice for the reverse design of the 2010 cent will rest with the United States Secretary of the Treasury.

I thought of several things, but that is about the best way to express what's wrong. "That's all, folks!"

Actually it is "out of many, one"

e.g. "You kept your money in fiat, and what was worth $10, is now only worth $1"

The CFA really appreciates beauty and attention to detail. 34 stars on the flag, and the coin is hideous. The E Pluribus Unum "football" font is hilarious at least! :4_1_72:

Gold and silver aren't barbarous relics...pennies are. Would they please quit minting these stupid things already?

WARNING: RANT

[RANT]Thats what I've been thinking about most coins the US Corperation has been minting for the past while. It's really ugly stuff...Lincoln, Jefferson, Rosevelt-(makes me nausious), Jackson on the $20 is hilarious...

I dig the Bahama dollar I found with the jumping sword fish(minus the old hag on the other side)...I love the dragons from China, A Roo on the Aussie coin....Can't we do a little better than some ugly dead currupt politition asshole's bust? [/END/RANT]

The shield will most likely be ongoing (replacment for the lincoln memorial)

Although I'm not quite that old, the 34 stars represent the number of states in the union when Lincoln was elected president.
